“We have gained a big chunk of self confidence just knowing that some of the world’s best writers and producers like what we do. We know we’re onto something special, and that really opens doors creatively.”
Flat Earth Society is a Stockholm based band consisting of childhood friends Oskar, Gustaf, and brothers Joakim and Magnus. Music was always a constant part of their upbringing, and as they grew up they ventured into different musical territories. While Joakim played the drums with various Swedish artists around the world, such as Miriam Bryant, Erik Hassle and Skott, Oskar worked closely with Björn & Benny of ABBA, playing a lead (Robert) in the most recent reprise of their musical Kristina från Duvemåla. Gustaf and Magnus, on the other hand, hid away deep within the catacombs of Stockholm’s songwriting and production scene, working with a wide range of international and domestic acts.
What was it like to win a Denniz Pop Award? It was fantastic! We were all big fans of the other nominees and went to the gala with no expectations at all. We had an awesome time meeting a bunch of great people and winning was a huge honor, making the evening even more special.
